About the real test
What to expect on test day
Montana gives the driver knowledge test in person at a driver exam station, by appointment. Montana does not publish how many questions the test has or the score needed to pass, so this bank is practice by topic rather than a timed mock exam. A learner license costs $5 for each year it is valid, plus a 3% administrative fee.
How old you must be depends on your route. In an approved traffic education program you can get a permit at 14½. Outside that program, Montana's sources differ: the exam station guide says 15 with completed driver education and 16 without, while the MVD web page says 15, so confirm with your exam station. Every question here is written from the Montana Driver Manual and shows the page it comes from.
