About the real test
What to expect on test day
Texas's Class C knowledge exam is taken at a Department of Public Safety (DPS) office, or as part of an approved driver education course. You need 70% to pass, and the exam is offered in English or Spanish. You can get a learner license at 15 if you are taking driver education; for drivers under 18 it costs $16. Some applicants under 25 who finish certain driver education courses may skip the exam at the DPS office. Texas does not publish how many questions are on the exam, so there is no full-length mock exam here.
Every question here is written from the official Texas Driver Handbook, revised in January 2026, and shows the page it comes from. Practice by topic or in mixed sets, then review the questions you missed.
