About the real test
What to expect on test day
Alabama's driver license knowledge test is taken in person at a Driver License examining office, on automated testing equipment. It is offered in English and 11 other languages, including Spanish, Arabic and Vietnamese, and oral exams are available. You can get a Stage I learner license at 15; the test costs $5 and the learner license $36.25. There is no separate road signs test: one knowledge test covers traffic laws, signs and safe driving. Alabama does not publish how many questions are on the test or the passing score, so there is no full-length mock exam here.
Every question here is written from the official Alabama Driver Manual (November 2024 edition) and shows the page it comes from. Practice by topic or in mixed sets, then review the questions you missed.
